This is a lesson of up to a maximum of 6 students and is based upon a building block structure designed to give students the tools to learn and advance. Again it is tailor-made to the students level and runs for 60mins.
There are beginner, intermediate and advanced courses(Please refer to the syllabus below), and each course is divided into 5 levels. The lessons contain a variety of learning methods, including speaking, listening, reading, writing and conversational Japanese. New vocabulary and grammar are constantly introduced as appropriate.
You will learn to communicate in a variety of situations, whether at work, school, college or in the local community.
Suitable for a person who:
- Wants to learn skills in Japanese (reading, writing, speaking and listening).
- Has never studied Japanese before & wants to know general ideas about Japan.
- Has studied before but wants to improve/brush up on their language ability.
SYLLABUS
1, Japanese Language GROUP Course – Beginner:
Beginner level starts with basic expressions and vocabulary. There are lots of different situations where you can use the expression you will learn. You will enable to speak Japanese very soon after starting lessons. By the end of beginner course, your Japanese friends must surprise that you will be able to express what you are thinking and have a simple conversation with your friends, as well as enable to use it in some business scene. This beginner course covers JLPT level 4.
- Beginner-1 (minna no nihongo L1 – 5):
CONTENTS: Greeting, Introducing yourself and friends, Meeting new people, Numbers, Asking Time, Date expression, Names of basic objects, Shopping conversations, Telephone conversation, HIRAGANA reading and writing
GRAMMAR: ~は~です/じゃありません。これ・それ・あれは~です。ここ・そこ・あそこは~です。 いま~じ ですか? ~から~まで(VERB)。 ~を(VERB)ます/ません/ました/ませんでした。
- Beginner-2 (minna no nihongo L6 – 10):
CONTENTS: Daily action, Daily conversation, Asking for going out, Giving and receiving, Expressing feeling, Telling your impression, Like/dislike, Telling reasons, Excuse, Visiting Japanese house, KATAKANA reading
GRAMMAR:

- Beginner –3 (minna no nihongo L11 – 15):
CONTENTS: Counters for different types of objects, Family, Describe places such as countries and your home, Comparison/Superlative, Expression of desire, Describe purpose to go, Restaurant conversations, Request and offering politely, Action in progress (~ing), Permission/expressing prohibition in public place, Discussing Japanese custom, Sightseeing situations, Simple Kanji Reading

- Beginner-4 (minna no nihongo L16–20):
CONTENTS: More natural daily conversation, Describing people/things, Sick conversation, Hospital conversation, Expressing ability/hobby, Talking experiences, Telling your weekend activities. Telling your dream, Casual conversation between friends, Simple Kanji Reading and writing

- Beginner-5 (minna no nihongo L21–25):
CONTENTS: Expressing ideas/information/opinion,Telling what you think, passing the massage, Noun modification(describing details),Talking about past experiences, Direction, Explain how to use tools, Expressing gratitude, Asking help politely, Conditional, Kanji Reading and writing. Beginner course summaries.

2, Japanese Language GROUP Course – INTERMEDIATE:
You will learn more natural expressions in intermediate course. The aim for this course is to become close to natural Japanese speaker by learning more grammar through different situations. You will learn more useful vocabulary as well as both formal and informal. By the end of this intermediate course, you will have no problem to communicate in Japanese in most situations. This course covers JLPT level 3.
- Intermediate-1 (minna no nihongo L26–30):
CONTENTS: Key to Natural speaking expressions, Asking and telling one’s abilities, Asking requests and advices politely, Job interview conversations, Polite refusal, Giving more than 2 reasons naturally, Trouble situations, Describe object naturally, Planning and preparing party and events, Review of Beginner, Kanji reading and writing.
GRAMMAR: ~んです。見えます・聞こえます。 可能(Potential)形 ~できます。~ながら、~。~し、~し・・・。~てしまいます。自動詞(Verb intransitive)/他動詞(Verb transitive)。~てあります/~ておきます。
- Intermediate-2 (minna no nihongo L31–35):
CONTENTS: Asking to going out to friends, Planning and scheduling, Giving advices and helps, Hospital situation, Emergency, Reading Japanese signs and understanding, Travel conversations, Formal Telephone Conversation, Giving instruction, Guiding people, Conditional expression, Recommendation, Kanji reading and writing.
GRAMMAR: 意向(Volitional)形 ~(よ)う! ~と思っています。~つもりです。~予定です。~ほうがいい。~かもしれません。 命令・禁止(imperative・prohibitive)形 行け/行くな。~とおりに~。~ないで~。条件(Conditional)形 ~ば~。
- Intermediate-3 (minna no nihongo L36–40):
CONTENTS: Your aim,Indirect request, Discussing change of situations, Explaining your troubles and cheering up, Express what you are like and what you think more naturally, Formal Excuse, Keeping a long chat in social life, Your dream, Indicate cause and reasons,Causes of accidents, Shopping conversations, Kanji reading and writing.
GRAMMAR: ~ように、~。受身(passive)形 ~られます。~の(Nominalizing verbs)は/が/を~。(Cause)て/で、~。~ので~。~かどうか、~。~てみます。
- Intermediate-4 (minna no nihongo L41–45):
CONTENTS: Conversations in meeting at office and school, Understanding Japanese Hierarchy and Choosing right phrases, Japanese Technology, More detailed impression & expressing natural feeling, Inquiries to public institution, Making complaints, Kanji reading and writing.
GRAMMAR: ~をいただきます。~をさしあげます。~をくださいます。~やります。~のために~。~そうです。~て来ます。~すぎます。~やすい/にくいです。~のばあいは~。~のに~。
- Intermediate-5 (minna no nihongo L46–50):
CONTENTS: Asking delivery, Emotional expression, Telling/listening to news, Expression through face senses, Kids' education, Education in Japan, Business conversations, Talking gossip, Visiting Japanese house, Introducing yourself in business situations, Understanding Japanese Hierarchy and conversation in the scene,Writing formal letter, Kanji reading and writing, Intermediate course summaries.
GRAMMAR: ~ところです。~ばかりです。~はずです。~そうです。~ようです。使役(Causative)形(~させます)。~させていただけませんか。尊敬(respectful)語 ~(ら)れます。お~になります。 謙譲(humble)語 お~します。
3, Japanese Language Course – ADVANCED-A:
In the advanced course you will learn Japanese in the way Japanese people do. You learn more than to be able to say what you want to say and understand what is said to you – you learn sufficiently good language skills to be able to understand and explore Japanese culture and customs. Communication scenes are set out (mainly discussions and negotiations about everyday topics), and model dialogues and graded exercises are provided. The aim is to help learners develop a comprehensive set of Japanese-language skills in speaking/ listening and reading/writing. Kanji are introduced every lesson.
- AdvancedA-1 :
CONTENTS: Politely make a request one is hesitant about. Express gratitude. Read a passage while noting where the history and merits of the things it discusses are described. Ask the meaning of an unfamiliar term & check what to do. Find examples and opinions. Explaining a situation and apologize politely. Ask politely for something to be changed. GRAMMAR: ~ていただけないでしょうかetc。~のよう。~ことはVSがVSを~。~を~と言う。~という~。Qword~ても~。~たら、~た。~というのは~のことだ。~ように頼む。~みたい。~させてもらえませんか。~ことにするVS~ことになる。
- AdvancedA-2:
CONTENTS: Guess what a text is about by looking at a graph. Receive a message, and ask someone to pass one on. Leave a message on someone’s voicemail. Read a passage while thinking about how feelings change. Give & receive directions. Ask and tell the route to somewhere. Read a passage while thinking about the reasons for something.
GRAMMAR: ~てほしいVSないでほしい。~そうなVSなさそうVSそうもない。~ということだ。~させられる。~である。Suspended form (~ます、~くて、) ~たがる。あVSそ。~んじゃない?~たところで。~ようとする。~のだろうか。~との/での/からの/までの。~だろうと思う。
- AdvancedA-3:
CONTENTS: Announce that one wishes to ask for permission to do something. Obtain permission by negotiating. Read a passage while thinking what 「こそあど」 indicate. Gladly accept an invitation. Decline an invitation politely, explaining why. Read a passage while noting who is speaking. Explain the circumstances of people, things, etc., in detail.
GRAMMAR: ~って。~つもりはないVSつもりだった。~てばかり。~とか~。~てくるVS~ていく。~なくてもかまわないetc。だけだVSだけでいい。~かな。~なんか~VS~なんて~。~(さ)せられる。~なら、~。
- AdvancedA-4:
CONTENTS: Find the answer to the question posed in the title. Read a passage while thinking about how each sentence relates to the ones before and after it. Communicate one’s wishes and conditions about something one wants to buy. Compare differences and choose what one wants to buy. Grasp the facts accurately. Understand what the writer thinks. Respond calmly when misunderstood.
GRAMMAR: ~あいだVSあいだに、~までVS~までに、~によって、~まま、~からだ。お~です。~てもかまわない。~ほど~ない。~ほど~はない。~ために。~たら/ば/~た。~はずだった。etc。。~ため(に)~。
- AdvancedA-5:
CONTENTS: Read while looking for differences. Understand conclusions. Make and receive suggestions. Guess what the passage is about by looking at the photograph. Understand why the legend of the gold arose. Apologize after being complained about. Explain the circumstances. Read while comparing differences in opinion.
GRAMMAR: ~ことが/もある。~た結果~。~出すVS~始める/~終わる/~続ける。~忘れる/~合う/~換える。~てくるVS~ていく。~たらどう?~より~ほうだ。~らしい。~として。~ず(に)~。~もんだから。~(ら)れる。~たり、~たり。~っぱなし。おかげでVSせいで。
4, Japanese Language Course – ADVANCED-B:
In the advanced-B course you will learn Japanese in the way Japanese people do. You will get the chance to immerse yourself in more modern contemporary Japanese culture and language through not only using text book but also newpaper, magazine and even comics. Introducing more complicated grammar and vocabulary. The aim for this advance course is to enable you to discuss a variety of topics in Japanese nad express your opinion freely in a variety of situations and settings such as business, social, travel and communicating informally. You can also direct teachers to the areas of Japanese you want to learn about. Teachers appriciate very much to be able to teach you what you want to learn!
