Q1–1 Are our teachers Qualified?
Hai! (yes!) We believe that having a qualification not only sounds great, but it also means our teachers have the necessary special knowledge for teaching Japanese.
Q1–2 Where is Japaneasy located?
Melbourne CBD. Level 4,126 Russel st( between Bourke st and little Collins st). All types of people such as business people,and students are choosing our school because the location is very handy. Also, when you enter our classrooms, you will be amazed by our JAPANEASE STYLE ROOMS! You will feel like you are in Japan! Very comfortable (with air-con!).

2. About Courses
Q2–1 What kind of course / lessons do you have?
Small group (maximum 6 people, beginner to advanced), private, conversation, intensive, VCE, Travel and Meeting family(if you have Japanese partner), Homestay conversation , and JLPT course for all levels.
Q2–2 Which course should I take?
Please refer to Lessons. Also you can always ask us for advice. We are happy to help find the most suitable course for you. Remember! All our lessons are tailor-made to suite, so please feel free to make specific request about anything you want to learn.
Q2–3 What will I learn in lessons? Is there any course syllabus?
Yes, we have 5 levels of beginner, 5 levels of intermediate classes, 5 levels of advanced classes and more advanced classes. Please have a look Lessons.
Q2–4 What is the method of your lesson?
You will learn Japanese in 日本語 (Japanese). You will be amazed how effective this method is! Our lessons reflect Japanese social conditions and everyday life so your Japanese will quickly improve just as thought you were actually there. Our range of classes will help you to find the way you learn best.
Q2–5 Can I use English in lessons?
Mainly we use 日本語 (Japanese) in Class. But because the lessons are all for you, if teachers and students think it is better to use English sometimes, we use English, too. But please use as much Japanese as you can! So make the most of the opportunity to speak to us in in Japanese and build your confidence.
Q2–6 How long is each term?
8 weeks(16 hours) for group lessons. Private tuition is flexible so students just keep studying during the term break. Refer to Timetable and Fee to get more info.
Q2–7 What are group lessons like?
Fun! 6 people maximum, we prefer small classes because teacher like to give specific attention to everyone, you can learn from others and atmosphere is cozy and helpful. 60minutes lesson twice a week, or 120 minutes lesson once a week. About contents Lesson-group and also listen to Students' Comment.
Q2–8 I can not attend twice a week group lessons, Can I take only one of the lessons per week?
There are a few students who are in this situation, they take 1 another private lesson on the same day. If you can not take the private lesson either, you should expect to receive lots of homework to catch up with classmates!
Q2–9 What are private lessons like?
Flexible, learn your own pace. You can bring any material you like. Please refer to Lesson – private and also Students' Comment.
Q2–10 What are conversation lessons like?
Situational conversation realted to life in Japan. This class is people who are not confident speaking Japanese, who want to brush on their speaking Japanese, people who are looking for opportunity to speak Japanese. Please refer to Lesson – conversation and also Students' Comment.
Q2–11 I would like to take one group lesson and one private lesson, is it possible?
Daijoubu!(that's ok!) as long as there are seats available. Please feel free to ask us to discuss first. .
Q2–12 Is there any JLPT(Japanese Language Proficiency Test) course?
Yes, our beginner level 1–5 is equivalent to JLPT level 4, intermediate up to level 5 is equivalent to JLPT level 3. Also there are the intensive course for16 lessons (Oct-Dec) before the test for JLPT3&4. We run JLPT1&2 courses whole year, you can join in anytime.
Q2–13 What is a summer intensive course?
3 – 5 weeks short course at any level. Just the term is shorter reduced to 3 – 5 weeks instead of 8 weeks(16 hours lessons). Also good for people who want to review their Japanese (Comprehensive course Beginner or Intermediate).
Q2–14 Is there a Japanese business course for my company?
Hai(yes), there is a special syllabus for business course which we can send to you by request.
Q2–15 Do I have to learn Japanese writing and reading?
If you are in a group lesson, normally yes. Do not be afraid to learn them, because most students find it so much easier than they thought. But again, lessons are all for you, so if you do not want to learn them, we are not forcing you, or you can choose private lessons.
Q2–16 How long will it take to be able to speak to Japanese friends?
Speaking Japanese is not hard, so after 1st term, you can talk about you, you can say what you want etc after 2nd and 3rd term… Remember, on first day, you will be able to introduce your self already! The point is using what you learnt to your friends everyday!
Q2–17 Is there homework and/or test?
Homework is good for your study process, so teachers normally give you homework. Test is by your request. Normally students take JLPT to get certificate.
Q2–18 Will I learn Japanese culture and customs in lessons?
Hai! (Yes!). We believe this is also important in lessons and in communication with Japanese people. We take every opportunity to introduce you to our culture and customs both in and outside of lessons.
Q2–19 Can you come to teach Japanese to our home?
We normally ask to come to our school for the first lesson/resister for safety reasons. Then we can start teaching at your home. The lesson fee is $396($360+GST) for 8 hours ($45/hr+GST) or $55($50+GST)/hour if you want to pay each lesson.
Q2–20 Can you come to teach Japanese to our company?
Yes, please let us visit you and discuss your company’s needs. If you want us to send you our special syllabus for business course for beginner people, please feel free to contact us.
Q2–21 I am a shift worker, can I have lessons at different times every week?
As long as the classroom and/or teachers are available and you pay the fee in advance, we can do that easily!
3. Enrolment & Fee
Q3–1 How can I enroll in Japaneasy language school? Is there any enrolment fee?
Feel free to contact us via email or call first, so we can find the most suitable course for you. After an interview or level check if necessary, your payment will confirm your seat. There is no enrolment fee at Japaneasy.
Q3–2 Can we enroll via email without meeting?
Yes, as long as you know which course you would like to take, that is fine. If you need our counsel, we are happy to advise you by the telephone or meeting. Then please pay your tuition fee into our bank and when we received the fee we will keep your seat . Please email us to get the bank details.
Q3–3 What is the schedule?
The schedule for each term is different. We will update it often so please keep your eyes on our Time table and fee. You can ask us to make your preferred timetable, we can sometimes be flexible!
Q3–4 When and how should I pay?
Ideally, please come to pay to us before your lesson starts, (earlier is better to get your preferred time table) but if we can not really make the time, paying via internet banking is fine. When you contact us, we can give you bank detail.
Q3–5 Is there any cancellation fee?
Group and convesation courses are not refundable. If you have to cancel the whole course or change the timetable, please let us know at least 4 working days before the term starts. If you miss the lesson, we will provide catch up lesson for $15. Private lessons, usually you will keep your regular appointments, if you have to cancel the lesson, let us know 4 days before the lessons(Via SMS or phone only, not email) and we won’t charge you any cancellation fee. If the notice is within 4 days before the lesson, the lesson fee can not be refunded.
Q3–6 Can I and my friend have semi-private lessons? How much is it?
Yes, you can take semi-private lessons. This cost is $220($200+GST) for 8 hours lessons per person or $33 per person if you want to pay per lesson.
Q3–7 Can I have lessons on public holidays and Sundays? How much?
Normally no lesson on public holidays. Sunday is close,too… this is only our day off of the week!
4. After starting learning with us
Q4–1 Can I change the course in the middle of term?
Normally you can not. However, on first lesson, if you have a special reason and if both you and your teacher agree with the idea, we will try.
Q4–2 Can I join in lessons in the middle of term?
Hai(Yes), as long as seats are available and your level is suitable for the group. You might need private lessons to catch up the group if you level is insufficient or if you need to refresh your memory..
Q4–3 Can I cancel lessons in the middle of term?
If you are in group lessons, you cannot cancel learning and we still have to charge whole fee. However, please do not worry because no one has so far! Private lesson doesn’t affect the term, so that is fine.
Q4–4 I am in group class but what should I do if I missed a lesson during term?
If you miss the lesson, we provide catch up lesson for $15/hr.
5.Others
Q5–1 Is learning Japanese hard?
Iie!(No!) Japanese pronunciation is very simple and structure is also simple, so everyone thinks the language is easier than they expected. By finishing the first lesson, you will already be able to introduce yourself!
Q5–2 I have not learnt Japanese before, so I am worried if I can learn Japanese in Japanese?
That is noooooooooo problem! Teachers are using lots of pictures and gestures to help you understand and switch your brain in Japanese, and you will realize the method is very effective later.
Q5–3 Can I get certificate when I finish the course?
You will get certificate by JLPT, official exam, which run once every year. We will help you to study for the exam every year, more than 80 percent of students who took the exam passed the test last year.
Q5–4 How often do you have a party or event?
School party is held every time we finish each term, which is about 2 months. All students are looking forward to making friends and seeing friends again at parties. Exchange night “Japanese Village” is held every 2nd and 4th Wednesday every month if you are looking for opportunity to meet Japanese friends.
Q5–5 Is there any chance to meet Japanese people?
Hai!(Yes!) We make some opportunity to meet you and Japanese people through some evens and party such as “Japanese Village” exchange night. You can practice what you learnt in classes and learn something different from teachers, not only language but also cultures.
Q5–6 Can you help me to find a job in Japan?
We can not find jobs for you but we can introduce you to ways of finding jobs and write references for you about your Japanese. Also we have strong network between students and friends, so there are lots of opportunity for it.
Q5–7 My friend is into Japanese, is there any good gift?
Hai!(Yes!) We have a gift voucher for any lessons starting from $38.50~. It is good for birthday gift, christmas surprise and wedding present (if your friend is getting married Japanese partner!).

Q5–8What is JLPT?
It is a Japanese Language Proficiency Test. It is held first Sunday of Dec every year. Good advantages for people who want to find jobs as well as entering universities in Japan Please have a look Link.
