Student Inteview - Tan

1. Name:
Tan
2. Country:
Thailand
3. Length of study Japanese:
6 months in Thailand (as a compulsory course at my previous company) and 1 year at Japaneasy (General group and JLPT N3 class)
4. Why are you learning Japanese?:
I have always been fascinated in Japanese language and culture. It started when I got a 4 weeks scholarship at a uni in Japan 10 years ago and never thought that it will be a life-time engagement :). It didn't become serious until I got a job in a Japanese company and learning Japanese is compulsory there. The more I get involved with Japan, the more I feel interested in not only the language but also its people and culture. They are all connected. And, now I find it very difficult to withdraw myself from learning Japanese.
5. How is your Japanese study?:
Very challenging since it's difficult to study Japanese in a non-Japanese speaking country specially after a three-year hiatus. However, passing N3 after only 7 months back to study made me feel very motivated and look forward to the next level.
6. Why did you choose JAPANEASY?:
I was looking at couples of Japanese language schools at that time. In the end I chose Japaneasy because of their well-structured courses, informative and friendly staffs, native speaker teachers, and plenty of out-of-class activities. I gave it a try and am very happy with the decision. :)
7. How would you like learning Japanese in JAPANEASY?:
I really enjoy my lesson every week and feel very motivated after each lesson. The small class size is conductive to learning. The staffs and teachers are also great and very helpful. Nihon-mura is also a good out-of-a-class activity to attend. Japaneasy has been a great experience for me.
8. Your favorite Nihongo and reasons?:
改善 Kaizen is one of my favourite words. It means change for the better or improvement but it is more popular being widely used as 'continuous improvement'. Kaizen is also a mindset that can apply to one's personal life. It defines problems as opportunities and encourages me to continuously find new effective ways to improve the way of my life.
